Dear Godmother:
Please receive my dearest greeting. My family and I hope that you are enjoying good health with your loved ones.
I would like to tell you that in the second semester of this year I could make one of my biggest wishes come true with your help. This dream was to be able to go to Universidad Del Tolima so I could take a major on Lengua Castellana (Spanish), so later on I can be a great professional. It is a very nice experience because as the days go by, one becomes a better person and also gets the chance to meet new people who can teach you great things.
I also feel very happy and thankful because you and your family as well as the YMCA have supported me and trusted in me. People at the Y are doing very well. It is very structured and the facilities are getting better and there are great people who help all the kids on the program. There is also internet service so we can use it to do our homework.
I would like to express my most sincere appreciation for the help you gave me this year. I promise you that I will never let you down and I will always fight for being better everyday and to grow as a person so I can have the chance to help people who need me in the future.
I would also like to tell you that some days ago, I took a couple of English classes. They are very interesting because one can learn a lot and it is very useful for my life and my career.
My family is doing well; my mother is working at a restaurant and my little sisters are on school break because they finished the school year without complications.
I am currently living in Ibagué, which is a beautiful city, specially this time of the year it is full of Christmas lights. There are a many people with a great heart and they are very nice and kind.
This time of the year I am usually very happy because I get the chance to gather with my family and share the Christmas spirit.
My family and I hope that Jesus brings peace, blessings and presents for you this year.
Merry Christmas and happy New Year. The time has come for me to say good bye. I love you very much and you are always in my heart.
Thank you for everything.
A big hug and a huge kiss,
Yenny Yurley Penagos Vargas.
